Hello, we are Azalea UPV!

The Azalea UPV team was created in 2017 to compete in Solar Decathlon Europe 2019. During the competition the team won first prize in Architecture, one of the most important categories. It also won second prize in Energy Efficiency and third prize in Engineering and Construction. We are now building a new prototype for the Solar Decathlon 2021 edition, with the Escalà project, inspired by the Cabanyal, we propose solutions for cities. The team that gives shape to this project is characterised by its multidisciplinary nature, made up of more than 30 students and recent graduates from 16 different degrees who share the same objective: to revolutionise the way we live.

The Azalea UPV team represents the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in the international competition Solar Decathlon Europe. The UPV is one of the most important technical universities in Spain, offering 48 different degrees and masters between the campuses of Valencia, Gandia and Alcoy.

Solar Decathlon Europe is an international university competition that seeks to promote research and development of efficient and sustainable housing. The history of this event began in 2002, when the first edition took place in the United States. In 2010, the first European edition took place in Madrid thanks to the collaboration between the US Department of Energy and the Spanish Ministry of Housing. In each edition, universities from around the world compete to present a bioclimatic housing project. Innovation and awareness are the key to creating a positive impact on society.
